The Sidecar SRD is Coming Soon
There are experiences we engage with – video games, creative activities, moments of exploration in the real world – that offer rich environments but may not have an explicit narrative structure dictated by a designer. They are spaces for action, challenge, or creation, but the story often remains solely within the player’s mind.
The Sidecar system provides the framework for creating Companion Games. A Companion Game is not something you play instead of another experience, but something you play alongside it. It adds a layer of structure for observation, interpretation, and personal narrative onto the existing experience, allowing players to discover and weave their own stories within unstructured or lightly-structured environments.
